The Monks of the Gaden Shartse Monastery visit from January 3 - 20, 2024

Placerville Friends of Tibet hosts the monks of the Gaden Shartse Monastery for the 21st annual Sacred Arts of Tibet Tour, beginning Wednesday, January 3, in Folsom and Tuesday, January 9, in Placerville. During the tour, the monks will share their arts and culture and Tibetan perspectives on the Buddha’s teachings, offering empowerment, astrology readings, healings, and blessings for individuals, families, businesses, pets, and the community at large.

In Folsom: The opening ceremony and Dharma talk explaining the sand mandala will begin on Wednesday, January 3, at 6 pm. The public can view the daily progress of the sand mandala from 10 am to 7:30 pm. The sand mandala creation culminates with a closing mandala dissolution ceremony on Saturday, January 6, at 4 pm.

In Placerville: The opening ceremony and Dharma talk explaining the sand mandala will begin on Tuesday, January 9 at 6 pm. The public can view the daily progress of the sand mandala from 10 am to 7:30 pm. The sand mandala creation culminates with a closing mandala dissolution ceremony on Saturday, January 20, at 4 pm.
