Columbus, OH – In a new report, Bernie Moreno is again caught lying to Ohioans, this time about selling Chinese-made cars at his dealership. Despite repeatedly claiming he “stood [his] ground and did not sell [the Buick Envision],” new reporting shows Moreno “sold the Chinese-made SUVs,” bragged about it by promoting a customer testimonial on his dealership’s YouTube page, and repeatedly advertised the car – which was “always made in China.”

Spectrum News: “Although Moreno tells voters he refused to sell the Chinese-made SUVs, his auto dealership posted a customer testimonial and advertisements online that tell a different story”

Spectrum News: “‘I purchased a 2017 Buick Envision from Buick GMC in Beachwood.’ This is a testimonial posted on the Bernie Moreno Companies YouTube page in 2016. ‘I highly suggest you visit the team at Buick and GMC of Beachwood, a Bernie Moreno Company.’”

Spectrum News: “Moreno spokeswoman Reagan McCarhty acknowledged that [Moreno’s] dealership sold the Chinese-made SUVs”

Spectrum News: “Spectrum News found multiple social media posts of the vehicle being promoted by Moreno’s dealership from 2014 to 2019, the period before Moreno sold the dealership to Crestmont Auto Group in 2020.”

Spectrum News: “Moreno never mentioned that his dealership did sell the Chinese-made SUVs for years…the campaign declined to comment on…why [Moreno] was comfortable selling the SUVs in the first place since the Envision has always been made in China.”
