Irish Cultural Center hosts John Perovich’s new mystery-comedy
The Irish Cultural Center of Phoenix will host six performances of John Perovich’s THE MONSTER OF TEMPE TOWN LAKE, produced by Ronin Theatre Company, May 24 thru 28.
When a college student goes missing from “A” mountain, a group of amateur sleuths band together to find their friend. Instead, they find something monstrous. “The play is a celebration of all things silly and spooky with a whole bunch of references to Tempe,” said ariZoni Award-winning playwright Perovich.
The cast features Matt Clarke (Chucky), Ryan Jenkins (Carmen), Antoinette Martin-Hanson (Heather), Jason Hall (Steve), Eric Bond-Darling (Agent Nance); Kiley Bishop, Lamar Overton and Kate Haas share eleven roles between them.
“It’s kind of like a live-action episode of Scooby-Doo,” confessed director Cody Gould. The rest of his crew includes Melody Knudson (assistant director/dramaturge), John Perovich (sound), MJ Beckett (stage manager), Nicole Thompson and Ivy Kanani (costumes).
Tickets to THE MONSTER OF TEMPE TOWN LAKE are available to purchase online at azirish.org/ronin-theatre with part of the proceeds benefiting the Irish Cultural and Learning Foundation.
The remainder of Ronin’s 2023 Season includes LYSISTRATA, DRACULA IN TOMBSTONE and TWELFTH NIGHT. Details will be posted on ronintheatre.com and Facebook.com/ronintheatreco.
