Dear Friend,

On Jan 11th, marks the beginning of the 445th Legislative Session of the Maryland General Assembly where members of the House of Delegates and Senate were sworn in to a new 4 year term.

While there are 188 members of the General Assembly, including 47 senators and 141 delegates, Democrats maintain a clear majority in both chambers. Republicans hold just 13 seats in the Senate and 39 seats in the House of Delegates. Republican Governor Hogan will remain as Maryland’s current Governor until January 18th at 12:00 pm when Democratic Governor-elect Wes Moore takes the oath of office.

I look forward to keeping you abreast of legislation under consideration by the Maryland State Senate and Maryland House of Delegates over the next 90 days.
