Pajama Storytime Thursday, October 5th at 6:30 p.m.

Join us for a fun evening of bedtime stories, songs, and a simple craft. Wear your jammies and bring a favorite sleepytime pal or blanket! For preschoolers and their families.

Choose Your Own Adventure Tuesday, October 10th at 6 p.m.

We'll be reading out loud one book from the Choose Your Own Adventure® series at each meeting and everyone will help decide which path we will take.
Participants will receive an Adventurer's Passport to collect badges. Participants who attend all 9 meetings will earn all 9 book badges and be eligible for a prize.
For children in grades 4 through 6.

We will be having Pizza at each meeting.

Little Kid Creative Drama Saturday, October 14th at 10 a.m.

Come get silly with your little one! Creative drama is a process-focused form of theater that establishes the building blocks of performance. In this class we focus on senses, feelings, and movement through fun and imaginative play. Children build confidence, social awareness, empathy, and problem solving skills. Each class has an early literacy component and is aligned with state standards for Theater Education. This class is for ages 2-5 and a parent.

Partial Eclipse! Saturday, October 14th from noon - 2 p.m.
Come watch the partial eclipse! We'll have a pair of eclipse glasses for each family that attends. Be sure to save them for the big eclipse on April 8, 2024! Look outside at the sun, watch the live stream of the full annual eclipse, and make some eclipse crafts in the Children's Program Room!
No registration necessary. Welcome to all ages!

Pokemon Trading Tuesday, October 17th at 6:00 p.m.

Bring your cards and let's start trading! For kids of all ages. No registration required.

Young Scientist for 6 weeks starting Wednesday, October 18th at 1 p.m.

Young Scientists is a free STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) program* facilitated by  STEM Beginnings. Program is for children ages 3-6 with a parent or caregiver. Program is 45 minutes long. Registration is required.

*The “Young Scientists” series is sponsored by the YMCA Family & Community Partnership (YFCP), which is a Massachusetts Coordinated Family & Community Engagement (CFCE) Grant funded by the Department of Early Education and Care and awarded to the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.

Diwali Storytime Saturday, October 21st at 10 a.m.
Join local author Ushma Multani as she reads her new book Reena and the Diwali Star and does Diwali themed activities and crafts with the kids.

Wake Up With Wimpy Tuesday, October 24th starting at 6 a.m.

Celebrate the release of the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid book before everyone else! There will be themed games, activities, and breakfast snacks. Each attendee will also receive a copy of the new book No Brainer take home to keep. This event is open to kids in grades 3-7. This event consists of a series of identical 15-minute sessions from 6:00-7:30 am. Registration is required for this event starting Tuesday, October 10th at 9:00 am. To register, email Annie Lee King at [email protected] or call 508-841-8609 ext 5 - NOT BEFORE OCTOBER 10. Participants will be assigned to a session by the event coordinator. All participants must be registered and late arrivals will not be admitted to the event.

Trick-or-Treat at Lake Street Park Saturday, October 28th from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Join the Children’s Librarians at Lake Street Park for Halloween fun! Come in costume, read the story along the path, and trick-or-treat for candy! While supplies last.

BuildWave Workshop Sunday, October 29th from 1:30-2:30p.m.
Kids ages 5+ are welcome to register for this high energy creative building event that encourages play and collaboration.  This 1-hour STEM workshop is sure to be a blast!
