Courtyard Storytime Monday, June 12th at 10 a.m.
Join Miss Sonja for singing, dancing, and stories in the fresh air. No registration or tokens needed. Geared toward kids age 1+. In the case of inclement weather the program will be canceled.

Summer Reading Kickoff Party! Thursday, June 22nd from 2-4 p.m.
We’ll be celebrating summer and reading with this afternoon all-ages library party! Join us for the following fun:
Local Author Showcase 2:00 p.m-4:00 p.m.
Lawn Games 2:00 p.m-4:00 p.m.
Children's Activities 2:00 p.m-3:30 p.m.
Teen Games 2:00 p.m-3:30 p.m.
Ice Cream 2:00 p.m-3:00 p.m.
The Silver Circus Show 3:00 p.m-4:00 p.m. This all-ages program requires admittance tickets. Tickets will be available for the program the day before and up to the show, while supplies last.

Storytime Meet & Greet with the Shrewsbury Police Saturday, June 24th at 10 a.m.
 Join us for a fun Storytime Meet & Greet with the Shrewsbury Police. There will be a storytime with our special guest readers, time to check out the cruisers, and a bag with fun stuff to take home. No registration required but please note that take-home bags are first come, first served.

Storytime Meet & Greet with the Shrewsbury Police Thursday, June 29th at 3 p.m.
Are you interested in learning about 3-D printing and creating your own designs? Come check out the library's Ultimaker 3! Kids will gain an understanding of how 3-D printing works, its capabilities, and its limitations. Learners will use TinkerCAD, a free 3-D modeling software, to design 3-D models. Then, they will learn how to bring these designs to life with the library's 3-D Printing team, Sierra and Dana! Parents, please come to the beginning of class to help your child create a TinkerCAD account. Registration required. For 2nd-5th graders.

Drum Circle for Kids Friday, June 30th at 11 a.m.
All Together Drumming hand drum and percussion circles are led by Tim Kane who provides up to 25 individual djembes, hand drums, and assorted percussion. Participants will learn about hand drumming, explore rhythms from around the world, and compose beats. For kids in grades 1-4. No registration or experience required.  If a participant has a drum at home, they are welcome to bring it.

Summer Crafternoons Fridays starting June 30th at 2:30 p.m.
Drop in for weekly themed crafting in the Children’s Program Room. Adult supervision required.  Geared for children in kindergarten and up.  (No registration required)

Reading Challenges

Just for Dads throughout the month of June. This special reading challenge just for dads. Sign up as early as possible in June to log your reading, win badges, and be entered to win one of three great "Dad-friendly" prizes.

Children's Summer Reading 2023 - Find Your Voice! starts Monday, June 26th. Kids ages 3 to 10 are encouraged to log the minutes they read this summer for a chance to earn cool online badges and specially themed weekly prizes! Reading is tracked online. In-person logging will be available as well.

This month's StoryWalk® at Lake Street Park is Red by Michael Hall. This wonderful community book was done in partnership with Shrewsbury Parks & Recreation and the Friends of the Library.
