Director's Note

Our Christmas decorations are up, and we put up a whole new shelf to hold all the Holiday books, CDs, and DVDs. So if you are looking for Christmas romances, thrillers, cookbooks, or comedies, we've got you covered. On that note, the Library will be closed the following dates over the holidays:

- Saturday, Dec. 24
- Monday, Dec. 26
- Saturday, Dec. 31
- Monday, Jan. 2

In other news, we have purchased a new train and town set for our train table using funds donated by the Coyle Family Trust. We have also expanded our board book shelves upwards so they won't be so crowded. The early reader's room is getting a lot of traffic lately, and we're aiming to bring it up to snuff.

Finally, I'd like to put out a call to anyone looking to get rid of audio cds--we'll take 'em! We have started a collection of music cds that is available to find in the catalog and place on hold, but isn't on public display. This lets us fit a lot of cds in a tiny space (21 per linear inch of space to be exact). We'd like to build this collection up as a service to our patrons who don't subscribe to streaming services and/or prefer the purportedly higher audio quality.

Thanks for reading,

Where are the Street Numbers?

In this month's 'Bits & Pieces,' Rebecca talks about piecing together the bits of information that connect historic properties to their modern street addresses. This is possible thanks to a number of research tools, but most notably that of Lucius J. Marsh! If your house has history, we can now easily find it!

Be Not Afraid.

Are you someone who doesn't use the Library because you are afraid we'll judge you when your books are late? Well, don't be bothered. It happens to everyone, especially us. Occasionally having to pay to replace a book your dog (or kid) ate is actually pretty normal. We don't judge.
