Support Space 4 Art Today

On September 7th, our community will come together for a special 24-hour online fundraiser called San Diego Gives. Part of their mission is to help San Diegans learn about the many nonprofits right in their backyards, with the hope that folks will donate locally, too. Space 4 Art is excited to take part in this local day of giving!

GIVE

As you may know, we rely on grants and donations to maintain affordable rent for our artists, as well as free public events like quarterly Open Studios or annual art shows. The benefit of these wonderfully diverse and engaging events is threefold:

1. Our artists are motivated to experiment, create, and share their art publicly.

2. We invite community artists onsite as guest performers, activate offsite art spaces, or hire curators.

3. People of all ages and walks of life enjoy free opportunities to interact with artists, musicians, poets, dancers, and fellow arts enthusiasts.

You'll notice that at 11:00 am and 4:00 pm, San Diego Gives is offering two special "Power Hours" of matched giving. At the start of those hours, they will match each donation (from $1 - $250) until their $10,000 matching funds run out. It’s on a first-come, first-served basis, and hundreds of other donors will be vying for the same matching funds for their organizations.

The money is expected to run out within the first 8 minutes of those two hours-- if you snooze, you’ll lose!

If the high-pressure "Power Hours" are not your thing, we are thrilled to announce that a local corporate sponsor, Better APC, is offering a much easier Matching Challenge, too. From 1:00-2:00 pm, Better APC will match the first $250 in donations-- this is exclusively for Space 4 Art donors!
