Playing danceable songs that range from Rock to Country, The Gobies never fail to entertain and pull people into the fun!

July 8, 2022: Dr. Pocket

Dr Pocket, Craig Strain’s horn-driven rhythm and blues monster band, has been wowing audiences in southeastern Michigan for 20 years. The 10-piece band features powerful vocals and equally powerful horns.

Dr Pocket plays foot-stomping, dance-worthy songs from such classic bands as Chicago, as well as today’s hits. The young and old turn out in droves to hear and watch Dr Pocket play.

July 15, 2022: Six Mile Strings

6MS – Yuri Popowcyz, Natalie Frakes, Alycia Wilder, Tom Sullivan – are a string quartet of friends who focus on performing classical and contemporary works. They aim to expand the scope and artistry of the traditional string quartet by working with artists of many genres and across disciplines.

Beyond the concert stage, all four musicians are educators and the quartet works to provide insight into the contemporary world of music as well as giving a fundamental understanding of classical music.

July 29, 2022: Alan Turner

Renegade Country delivering High Energy Country Music with a Rock edge!
Not since Garth Brooks jumped off the stage and into people’s hearts has the country scene delivered such riveting entertainment as southeastern Michigan’s Alan Turner and his Steel Horse Band. His connection with his fans makes him stand out, and his rugged good looks, rich baritone vocals and the way he delivers the song to his captivated audiences has set him above the rest.

August 5, 2022: The Groove Council

The Groove Council is the band to catch when you feel the need for some funky horn-driven R & B with that old school Detroit soul sound.  Every gig is a party –  hosted by lead singer Kathleen Murray!  The 9-piece band features 4 horns and a smokin’ rhythm section.  You’ll hear some of your favorite soul classics, a few tasty B-sides, and some new tunes that have that old-school sound – all with that distinctive Groove Council influence.  You’ll want to be there when the Council is in-session!

August 12, 2022: Dave Bennett’s Rockin’ the 50’s

Dave Bennett doesn’t fit the mold. You may not find another clarinet virtuoso who occasionally breaks from his Swing Era repertoire to sing rock-a-billy hits while accompanying himself at the piano where he plays a mean barrelhouse boogie-woogie. A crowd favorite in Lexington for many years Dave is returning to our stage to wrap up the Music in the Park season in grand style!

August 19, 2022: Arena Rock Detroit

Featuring the best of the 80’s Arena Rock and classics you love! Arena Rock Detroit is brining all of your favorites to the Music in the Park stage. Don’t Stop Believing and more! We are excited to feature what is sure to be your new favorite band to follow.
