Dropoffs are held semiannually in the parking lot behind the church:
Come Ye, Come Ye, to the Fair!
The whole community is invited to share in this festive annual assembly of food and wares. Fall Fair has been an SPC tradition for over 30 years now! It began as an outdoor flea market and several food stands featuring the culinary talents of members and has grown to fill our main building, the neighboring community center and the large parking lot in between with a feast of food and an array of items for sale, including furniture, antiques, collectibles, flea market items, books, toys, games, sporting goods, and hand crafted items. Children's activities include games played for prizes and a moon bounce in addition to the treasures in the children's section of the book sale and toys and games at prices even our youngest customers can afford.
Food, Finds, and Family Fun at Swarthmore Presbyterian Church Fall Fair
One of the signature events for Swarthmore and the surrounding region returns on Saturday, September 30th, when Swarthmore Presbyterian Church hosts its annual Fall Fair. The day’s festivities begin at 9:30 and close at 2:30pm. Come early to snag the best bargains. And don’t forget to take home a pumpkin or two!
Also, don’t pack lunch. They’ll feed you with fresh-cooked and homemade wonders while you shop the Fair’s huge assortment of incredible bargains in collectibles, jewelry, toys, books, and a flea bazaar.
Do you restore or flip furniture? Bring your truck! Love collectibles? Bring a second truck! Students, put some shine on your dorm room with funky flea market finds.
Partners, take a break while your spouse shops. The Fair has fresh-off-the-grill hot dogs and sausages plus hot coffee. Then browse the to-die-for book assortment before you both meet up to dig into fresh oysters, shrimp, and crabs along with a killer array of homemade salads and baked goods.
Family fun is abundant in the toys, games, and children’s books for sale. The Kids’ Kuisine station offers fresh pizza, lemonade, and fried dough, while a few steps away the can’t-miss Kidz Zone delights with face painting, moon bouncing, hair coloring, pumpkin painting, and loads more! Decisions, decisions!
“Now in its 39th year, the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church Fall Fair is a celebration of family, community, and sharing,” says SPC’s pastor, Rev. Joyce Shin. “It’s truly a time where the hosts have as much fun as the guests, and no one leaves empty-handed!”
We hope you will join us for this community event, where fair proceeds not only benefit the church and its mission, but also help SPC support our local outreach efforts in Chester and our new Refugee Resettlement Welcome Team.
