Supporters Can Help Double the Donation to $10,000 by Voting for their Agent Giving Story  

Sarasota, Fla. (May 23, 2024) — Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance have awarded CBIZ Insurance Services a 2024 Make More Happen Award for its volunteerism with The Payton Wright Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide financial assistance to families who have children being treated for cancer of the brain and spinal cord. The award includes an initial donation of $5,000 for The Payton Wright Foundation which can be doubled to $10,000 just by having community supporters vote online. 

The CBIZ Insurance Services and The Payton Wright Foundation community story is highlighted on the official Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/CBIZ-Insurance-Services, where supporters can vote to help the team reach their donation goal. If the featured story receives at least 500 votes, the $5,000 donation will be raised to $10,000.  

The Payton Wright Foundation was created both in Payton's memory and with her fighting spirit so that children with brain cancer will know that "it's gonna be a good day!". The $10,000 donation will allow the organization to financially support families caring for a child with brain cancer by paying for the family's "every day" bills like car payments, utilities, mortgage/rent, and gas cards so they can travel to the hospital.

A respected team member of CBIZ lost his daughter at the age of five.  The little girl was diagnosed with brain cancer just after her fourth birthday after complaining of knee pain.  The diagnosis is unfathomable to any parent, and the nonprofit organization helps families by relieving stress from everyday responsibilities like car payments, mortgage/rent, fuel, and even keeping the electricity on.  

Last year for the foundation's golf outing, CBIZ was instrumental in helping the foundation raise $225,000.  Over 20 CBIZ employees volunteered with the foundation to help families of a child with brain cancer.  Over the past six years, employees have tirelessly volunteered for the foundation, logging over 500 hours of service. CBIZ also stays involved in The Payton Wright Foundation with Keith Mercier, President of Sarasota CBIZ as a Board Member and Patrick Wright, Vice President of CBIZ Sarasota as the current President.

Throughout 2024, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select up to 37 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $370,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application and photos demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit.
