THE ST. AUGUSTINE AMPHITHEATRE RANKS FIRST IN THE U.S. AND SECOND WORLDWIDE AMONG AMPHITHEATRES IN POLLSTAR MAGAZINE’S 2022 MID-YEAR REPORT

Good Morning,

As the concert industry looks to make a strong comeback in 2022, The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is leading the way according to industry-leading publication, Pollstar Magazine. The publication’s 2022 Mid-Year Ticket Sales Report ranks The St. Augustine Amphitheatre #1 in the United States and #2 in the world based on tickets sold from January 1 to June 27, 2022. The St. Augustine Amphitheatre has a history of ranking as a top venue, but this most recent ranking is due to the venue’s record-breaking number of ticketed events and overall sales.

Since the start of 2022, The St. Augustine Amphitheatre hosted 39 ticketed events, and welcomed 106,646 guests. In 2019, the last full year of live music prior to the pandemic, The Amp hosted 30 ticketed events and welcomed 74,226 guests at the midyear point, earning the #2 spot in the United States and #3 in the world.

“We knew we were having a strong year and we just assumed that most, if not all, venues were seeing similar record setting numbers,” said Gabriel Pellicer, General Manager of The St. Augustine Amphitheatre & Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. “That being said, we didn’t necessarily think we’d be first in the country, let alone nearly double the sales of outdoor venues like Red Rocks Amphitheatre with 57,423 patrons. We’re very proud.”

Since the start of the 2022 season, The St. Augustine Amphitheatre hosted a variety of renowned artists including three nights of Grammy-Award winning bluegrass phenom Billy Strings, the critically acclaimed indierock artist Phoebe Bridgers, two nights of award-winning comedian Sebastian Maniscalco, emerging indie singer-songwriter Rex Orange County, Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Leon Bridges, and three nights of American-rock group Widespread Panic; to name a few.

Looking ahead, The St. Augustine Amphitheatre will close out 2022 with a strong lineup of performances by artists such as Whiskey Myers (July 17), Buddy Guy & John Hiatt (August 6), Ring Starr and His All Starr Band (September 15), Jack White (September 19), Earth, Wind & Fire (September 27), Bonnie Raitt (November 12), and many more.
