ONLY A FEW SPOTS LEFT IN SGRAFFITO WORKSHOP

Director of the Harvard Ceramics Program, Kathy King, will lead a workshop on the lively and popular technique of sgraffito on Saturday, November 16 from 10am-4pm. Kathy will share an array of tips and tricks and will instruct participants on how to explore these techniques on a small test tile.

FALL 2022 ART TALK SERIES

Join us on Tuesday, November 15 from 4-5pm for the next event in the Art Talk SeriesPonnapa Prakkamakul, our new 2022-2023 Umbrella Artist in Residence, will be speaking on her background in fine art and landscape design and her residency here at The Umbrella. Learn about her plans to engage the Concord community in her art process and what she has in store for this year. 

This talk will have an ASL interpreter and will be recorded and broadcast later by Minuteman Media.

On Saturday, November 12 from 10-11:30am, artist, activist and teacher Nayda A. Cuevas will be leading a FREE Art as Activism/Healing: Race and Racial Justice workshop.

In this workshop, Nayda will foster a safe and welcoming space for Concord-area families and students to creatively and constructively explore themes of race and racial justice. With her guidance, participants will create a portrait of a contemporary art figure of their choice. Workshops will conclude in an exhibition at The Umbrella Arts Center to be hung in 2023.

IN MEMORY OF CONCORD RESIDENT DICK PLEASANTS

Dick Pleasants was a giant in the Boston music scene, a champion of local folk music, and beloved Concordian. Dick was instrumental in founding folk programming at The Umbrella and we are honored to have been a part of his legacy. Please find information regarding services here.
