Doris W. Madsen has utilized paper bags to carry her message of hope. A multitude of watery layers are used to convey a sense of fluidity of boundary and influences. Her combinations of painting, printmaking and words move us along a journey to explore our own feelings and journeys. Doris was deeply influenced by the words of Refaat Alareer, Palestinian poet, killed Dec. 6, 2023; "If I must die, you must live, to tell my story...If I must die, let it bring hope, let it be a tale."
