137 years ago, the small wooden box camera called Kodak No. 1 was invented by George Eastman. This historic 1888 invention marked the beginning of the democratization of image-making allowing anyone to capture 100 simple round photographs without understanding the intricacies of photochemistry. This exquisite photography exhibit juxtaposes vintage cameras and photographs from the late 1880s by unknown photographers with contemporary work created in 2020s by Leverett photographer James Gehrt.

Small Victories is opening a shop in Thornes Marketplace! This welcoming spot will have inspiring everyday products from our studio in Easthampton featuring original illustrations by artists Vincent Frano and Isa Wang. We will have art prints, plantable seed paper greeting cards, pronoun pins, and more--plus deals on studio seconds in our vintage vending machine. Stop by for our grand opening on 3/29 and the first 100 visitors who sign up for our mailing list will receive special goody bags.
