Library of Things
Coming Soon in 2024

The Thomas Crane Public Library's Library of Things is a circulating collection of non-traditional materials that provide the opportunity to learn and grow by doing, seeing, and making.

You can borrow ukuleles, a stand mixer, or even a power washer with your library card! Take our Things home to try before you buy, start projects you've been meaning to tackle, discover a new hobby or even host your own karaoke party.

Stay tuned as we develop our Library of Things collection!

Kids' Winter Reading Challenge (Read-And-Bead)

January 2 - February 29, 2024

Join us for our Kids' Winter Reading Challenge in January and February! This reading challenge is open to Thomas Crane Public Library cardholders who are between the ages of 0 - 13 years and their families. Everyone will receive a special reading chart of winter characters to track their reading. Whether you're doing the reading or being read to, all reading counts!

Come into any of the Quincy library locations to sign up and come back to get your reading signed off and collect beads or stickers! How many can you collect by February 29?

Participants aged 0 - 5 years will earn special winter-themed stickers for every 15 minutes of reading. These can be added to their very own set of mitten reading challenge cards!

Participants aged 5 - 13 years are invited to join our read-and-bead program, tracking every 15 minutes of reading with a bead of their choice, to create a brag tag full to celebrate their winter of reading. The more you read, the fancier beads you can earn and trade up to, building up to the coveted 24-hour winter charm!
