Avon, CO – SunsetSUP race series begins this Friday, July 15^th on Nottingham Lake in Harry A. Nottingham Park. This inaugural SUPer fun SUP race series on Nottingham Lake offers paddlers a chance to win cash prizes, XTERRA swag and bragging rights! Compete with other paddlers and meet new paddling enthusiasts at SunsetSUP. Registration is open now and only $15 for adults to compete and free to kids ages fourteen and under.

Adults can complete in two categories, Unlimited which includes hard and inflatable boards between 12’6 to 14’ in length or Stock which include hard and inflatable boards 11’ in length and under. “Adults battle for first, second and third place with winners taking home cold hard cash and XTERRA swag,” stated Danita Dempsey, Culture, Arts & Special Events Manager at the Town of Avon. “We launched Paddle Battles last year our and community had a fun time. The success of Paddle Battles and XTERRA USA Championships landing in Avon provided the perfect spring board to begin the SunsetSUP race series.  We are thrilled to partner with SUP CO and XTERRA to bring this race series to life with hopes of growing in the future,” Ms. Dempsey continued.  The next SunsetSUP race is on Friday, August 19^th.

We invite participants and their families to stick around after the inaugural SunsetSUP is finished for family-friendly free movies in Harry A. Nottingham Park at Lakeside Cinema.
