Open Position – Library Director

The Town of Brewster seeks qualified applicants for Library Director. Position is responsible for supervisory, administrative, and professional work in directing, managing, and administering the operations, services, and programs of the Brewster Ladies Library.  Duties include, but are not limited to; works with staff and Library Board of Directors to develop library services to most effectively meet the present and future needs of the community; develop and monitor annual operating budget and capital requests and expenditures; seeks grant opportunities and alternate funding in support of library operations, services, programs, and events; supports and advises Library Board on needs, issues, and progress relative to long range plans, operations, programs, activities and fiscal matters. The successful candidate is expected to work collaboratively with all constituents, including department heads, staff, elected and appointed officials and must be a consensus-builder. Master’s degree in Library Science; minimum 7 years of related work experience in library management, municipal experience preferred, and three years’ experience in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. This is a full-time, 37.5 hour per week, Grade 11 Personnel Bylaw position with a starting annual salary of $95,647.50 – $107,659.50, with an excellent benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement benefits. Upcoming Dual Election – January 10th, 2023

Two elections will be held in Brewster on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, from 11:00am until 7:00pm at 1848 Main Street, Fellowship Hall/Brewster Baptist Church.

A district-wide election will take place on committing additional funding to the Nauset High School renovation project, in addition to a municipal election on allowing the Town of Brewster to fund its portion of the district debt. 

Brewster residents will shortly be receiving vote-by-mail applications in the mail. Please check the boxes on these applications to indicate the elections you would like to participate in – affix your signature and return. These forms can be left in the drop box outside of Town Hall or returned by mail. The deadline for both elections to request a ballot-by-mail for this election is January 3rd, 2023. The last day to register to vote is Friday, December 30th, 2022.

Ballots must be returned by Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, 7:00pm in order to be counted. These envelopes may be mailed, returned via the drop box, or brought into the Town Clerk’s office. The Nauset District ballots will have a yellow header and need to be placed back in the ballot affidavit envelope with a yellow marked label. The municipal election ballots will be salmon and must be returned in the salmon marked label envelope after completion. Please remember to sign the envelopes.
