NEWS RELEASE - WATER DEPARTMENT

This is not an emergency. On Sunday May15th our largest well #6 at Memorial Beach developed a mechanical failure that may take several weeks to address. As a result of this failure, we are unable to sustain daily system demands and our stand-by backup well at Bigelow was reactivated. Our most recent PFAS testing at Bigelow shows results below the 20 parts per trillion maximum contaminant level with a quarterly average of 12.43 parts per trillion. We will collect additional PFAS samples on Monday May 16th as a precautionary measure.

We are committed to providing consumers with safe and reliable water and are working diligently to make repairs at well #6. As a consumer, you have the right to know what is going on and we appreciate your support.

Consumers concerned about potential health effects of PFAS should consult a medical professional. Please note our system remains in compliance and the water is safe to drink at this time. This is not an emergency.
