September Food Drive
At each of the 40 libraries across the county, cardholders can donate non-perishable food items during September.
$1 in fines will be waived for each item donated up to $10 per library card holder. The amount waived is applied to fines only (not replacement costs).

Donations will be accepted at all Jefferson County public libraries' circulation desks during September. Click HERE for more details including information on the types of items you can donate. All donations at the Trussville Library will be given to T.E.A.M. (Trussville Ecumenical Assistive Ministry).

Preschoolers at Play
Wednesday, Sept. 21st  |  10:30 am
Join Ms. Alicia for a playtime program for preschool-aged children. The program will begin with a guided sensory time, followed by free play time at several stations set up around the large auditorium with various toys. Each month we will briefly highlight an activity designed to help your child prepare for reading and school readiness. Best for Preschool Ages (2 - 5 years old).

Middle Grade Book Club
Thursday, Sept. 22nd |  5:00 pm
Read or listen to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling before the book club meeting. Then join us for a special event as we discuss the book, play games, and make a themed craft. This program is for 3rd - 6th grade students. Registration Required.

Teen Advisory Board
Tuesday, Sept. 13th |  4:00 pm
Teen Advisory Board is a place for local teens to get involved at their library. At TAB meetings we will discuss popular books, movies, and shows they would like to see in our collection. We will also discuss programming and take part in service projects to benefit the library. Light snacks will be provided. Open to 8th - 12 grades.

Manga Club: Demon Slayer
Thursday, Sept. 22nd |  4:00 pm
The Teen Dept. is hosting a monthly Manga Club this fall! Manga is a Japanese-style comic book. This club is the perfect place for manga and anime fans, or anyone that likes comic books in general. This month we will be discussing the Demon Slayer series. Light snacks will be provided. Open to 6th - 12th grades.

Lunch with author Jim Hickman
Tuesday, Sept. 6th |  11:30 am
Enjoy lunch with Jim Hickman, author of Mule Shoes to Santa Fe and You Smell Like a Grandpa and Other Campfire Stories. Mr. Hickman will regale us with tales from his adventurous life. A light lunch will be provided by the Friends of the Trussville Public Library. Registration is required.

Lost Treasure of Antebellum Alabama
Friday, Sept. 23rd |  12:00 pm
Join us for a special presentation with historian/artifact hunter Jim Phillips! Mr. Phillips will share interesting stories of local historical events and discuss the types of artifacts that have been discovered in our area. He will also display his mobile museum of the 1700s and 1800s artifacts from Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee.
Attendees are encouraged to bring in old bottles, coins, tokens, or paper money for Mr. Phillips to evaluate at the end of his presentation.

Bookin' It 5K
The Friends of the Trussville Library and the Trussville Public Library are very pleased to announce our first annual BOOKIN' IT 5K Race/Walk coming up on Saturday, October 15th at 8:00 AM! The race will start and finish at the Trussville Public Library and will be chip timed. A race bib and t-shirt are included with your registration packet.
All proceeds from the race will benefit the Friends of the Trussville Library!
