Voting Now Open for the Mayor’s Neighborhood Excellence People’s Choice Award

Chandler, AZ - The nominations are in for the Mayor’s Neighborhood Excellence awards and seven Chandler neighborhoods are vying for the People’s Choice award. Registered HOAs and traditional neighborhoods in Chandler who held a community G.A.I.N. event last fall as part of the region’s Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods initiative held in partnership with local police departments were eligible to be nominated.

Registered HOAs and traditional neighborhoods in Chandler who held a community G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) event last fall were eligible to be nominated. G.A.I.N. is an initiative held in partnership with local police departments. 

The following Chandler neighborhoods are up for the People’s Choice Award:

Armstrong and Silk Stocking, near Chandler Boulevard and Arizona Avenue

Ashley Park, Cooper and Ray roads

Cooper Commons, near Cooper and Riggs roads

Dobson Place, near Chandler Boulevard and Cooper Road

Oakwood Lakes, near Alma School and Chandler Heights roads

Ray Manor, near Ray Road, between Arizona Avenue and McQueen Road 

Willis Ranch Unit, near Pecos and McQueen roads

Voting is now open through 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21. Votes may be cast online at chandleraz.gov/MNEA. Voters are encouraged to visit the website to read the nominations highlighting each neighborhood’s G.A.I.N. event. Voters may cast one vote per device.

The winner will receive a first-place pick in this year’s G.A.I.N. event lottery, up to $1,000 for their G.A.I.N. event, and an opportunity to have a member(s) of the Chandler City Council and attend their event between 3 -7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14. In addition to the People’s Choice Award, Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke will review the nominations and select a winner of his own.
