Yesterday, during an interview on Fox Business, Rick Scott celebrated Arizona’s 1864 total abortion ban going into effect saying “this is exactly what ought to happen.”

Larry Kudlow: The Arizona Supreme Court upholds a near-total abortion ban. Do you have a thought on that? 

Rick Scott: Well, look, this is what’s going to happen as a result of the overturn of Roe v. Wade. And as you know, I’m pro-life, you know, is that we’re going to decide this at the state level. State by state is going to figure this out. I’m sure Arizona will figure this out. In Florida, we’ve got a constitutional amendment that’s going to help us figure out where we are. So this is exactly what ought to happen. It ought to be going through a legislative process to come up with a way to make sure we have reasonable limitations, but where you protect babies.

This is the latest example of Scott celebrating dangerous abortion bans being implemented as a result of Roe being overturned – including in Florida, where the Scott-endorsed six-week ban will eliminate reproductive health care access before most women know they’re pregnant, with virtually no exceptions. 

Scott has pledged to vote to keep Florida’s six-week ban in place.
