Scherman-Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary
New Jersey Audubon Society's Scherman-Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary is home to the Hoffman Center for Conservation and Environmental Education. This new center will house the New Jersey Audubon Society Conservation department, classrooms, exhibits, an observation deck and wildlife viewing area along with new and improved trail systems at the sanctuary. The Center also houses a nature shop, the area's best source for binoculars, spotting scopes, field guides, bird feeders and seed, natural history books and nature gifts.
The New Jersey Audubon Society (NJAS) is a privately supported, not-for profit, statewide membership organization. Founded in 1897, and one of the oldest independent Audubon societies, NJAS has no connection with the National Audubon Society.
The New Jersey Audubon Society fosters environmental awareness and a conservation ethic among New Jersey's citizens; protects New Jersey's birds, mammals, other animals, and plants, especially endangered and threatened species; and promotes preservation of New Jersey's valuable natural habitats.
