Bringing fresh produce to the heart of Keansburg

Keansburg Farmers Market is a collaborative effort of the Keansburg Revitalization Committee, Rutgers/ 4H Cooperative Extension, and local volunteers. Sun-kissed, certified Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available from 12 to 5PM on Wednesdays. Specialty items like local honey will also be sold.

The market aims to serve a segment of the population that would otherwise have to drive out of Keansburg to buy fresh produce. Health educator Sophia Josil from the Monmouth County Regional Health Commission will be on hand to provide healthy lifestyle tips. WIC and Senior vouchers will be accepted.
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and Seniors Farmers Market Nutrition Program makes available locally grown fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs to nutritionally at-risk pregnant, breast-feeding, or post-partum women; children two to five years old; and eligible seniors age 60 and older. WIC participants and eligible seniors receive checks to purchase locally grown produce from certified farmer vendors.
The Keansburg Farmers' Market is located on Main Street in the garden of Friendship Park, the site where watercolor artist Laura Brunetti recently installed a new gazebo as a gift to the community.
For more information about the market or to participate as a vendor, call Ann Commarato, Chair, Keansburg Revitilization Committee at 908-601-8729
