"The Playground Series" an Exhibition of Photographs by Carol Schlitt at Express Yourself Studios

MAPLEWOOD, NJ, September 18, 2009 – Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood will host an exhibition of photographs by West Orange photographer Carol Schlitt.  Ms. Schlitt a human rights lawyer by training has shown her work at the Leon & Toby Cooperman JCC Ross Family Campus of West Orange, the former Dancing Goat Café of South Orange and the Bluestone Café of Montclair.    

Schlitt will showcase images from her “Playground Series.”  “As a photographer I am interested in form, light and space and the ways in which these elements interact.  The majority of the photographs in this show were taken in neighborhood playgrounds.  I have tried to capture the way in which playgrounds are art installations,” says Schlitt.    “For any parent who has spent endless weekends in the park with their child, this exhibit will resonate or possibly awaken thoughts of one’s own childhood,” says Rodney Brown co-owner of Express Yourself Studios.
