Greater Nassau Chorus

Greater Nassau Chorus has been bringing four-part a cappella music to Long Island since 1960 and has become one of the world’s leading singing groups in 4-part barbershop harmony. Beginning in 1984, we have earned a medal each time we competed with other New York area chapters in yearly Regional contests. Our scores have repeatedly earned us the right to represent our region in worldwide competition.  Under the direction of Master Director Harriette Walters, Greater Nassau Chorus achieved  4^th place in the world at the Sweet Adelines International Chorus Competition in October 2009.  We most recently placed first at the Region 15 Chorus Competition in April 2010 after earning the highest score ever obtained by a chorus in our Region.  This accomplishment qualifies us to compete at our 10th International competition in Houston, Texas in 2011.

By presenting concerts, sponsoring scholarships, and performing in benefits, Greater Nassau Chorus makes contributions to our local communities. Greater Nassau's musical repertoire of American popular standards, Broadway showstoppers, big band tunes, and other contemporary selections is appropriate for community affairs, parties, and holiday celebrations.      

We can provide from 4 to 80 singers for any event that can be enhanced by live musical performance.  Guests are always invited to attend Greater Nassau Chorus rehearsals, and new members are accepted year-round.
