The Learning Center exhibition features Caldecott-winner Brian Selznick’s original artwork for the picture-book Walt Whitman: Words for America. The vibrant, accessible paintings begin with Whitman's apprenticeship as a Brooklyn printer and trace his life through his years as a Civil War nurse
