Congratulations to iona rozeal brown on receiving the 2009 Joyce Award and for her upcoming solo exhibition at MoCA Cleveland opening January 29, 2010 (catalog).
Nicola López's "Urban Transformations" is on view at the Chazen Museum in Madison, WI through January 3, 2010 (catalog).Her work is also presented in "Embrace!" at the Denver Art Museum through March 28, 2010 and in "SUPER CITY" at the Contemporary Art Galleries of the University of Connecticut in Storrs through December 5, 2009. López's installation in the "Brooklyn Academy of Music: New Wave Festival" can be seen in the stairwell of the Harvey Theater through December.
Gerhard Mayer's ceiling for the Baroque Church Seibelsdorf will be completed in early December. The restored church will be unveiled in March, 2010. Mayer will begin a 3600 square foot wall drawing for the six front windows of the New Museum Nuremberg at the end of January.
Bradley McCallum & Jacqueline Tarry are preparing a survey of their work in collaboration with The Contemporary Museum in Baltimore and the Maryland Institute College of Arts, EDS. The multi-venue exhibition will be presented in May of 2010. Their Mug Shot paintings in the "Creating Identity: Portraits Today" exhibition at the 21c Museum in Louisville, KY remain on view through December 31.
Curtis Mitchell's "Personas" exhibition at Martos Gallery (540 West 29 Street, NYC) closes on December 5. Don't miss his terrific video and installation works based on iconic films like "Pulp Fiction" and "Once Upon a Time in the West."
Nathan Redwood's and Nicola López's work in the "Fresh from Chelsea: Selections from the collection of Robert and Lisa Feldman" exhibition will travel from the University of Florida in Gainesville, (closing December 4), to the University of Central Florida in Orlando, (opening January 14, 2010). There will be a catalog published in conjunction with this exhibition.
Travis Somerville's solo exhibition, "Dedicated to the Proposition..." remains on view at the Ben Maltz Gallery of Otis College in Los Angeles through December 12. Check out the great review of the exhibition in Art Forum on-line (to read Somerville's review click here)
Devorah Sperber's solo exhibition "Devorah Sperber: Threads of Perception" at the Knoxville Museum of Art will be on view through January 7, 2010 (an exhibition catalog is available through Washington Press). Her solo exhibition "Devorah Sperber: Seeing Things" continues at the Ierimonti Gallery in Milan, Italy through January 3, 2010. Sperber's work is also on view in the "In Stitches" exhibition curated by Beth Rudin DeWoody at the Leila Taghinia-Milani Heller Gallery, NYC through December 19.
John Stoney's solo exhibition," For your love" will open at Pierogi (177 North 9th Street, Brooklyn) on Thursday, November 20 from 7 - 9 PM and will remain on view through December 20.
