“God will Provide” was the popular motto of St. Pius Tenth. In 1954, when St. Pius Tenth parish was founded in Chili, New York, it succeeded an existing parish, St. Feehan’s,which had been there since 1854. Bishop James E. Kearney thought that St. Feehan was unknown to the people, and since St. Pius Tenth had just been canonized, he decided to dedicate a new parish in Chili to the honor of the new saint. Once dedicated, the parish remains St. Pius Tenth, and is today a thriving spiritual community of over 2300 families.
