Learn about the first steps needed to become a trained teaching artist, and learn how to find freelance work in schools.
Artists of all disciplines are welcome.
You do Not need to have any teaching experience to attend!
Speakers include:
DB Lampman, Program Director at the Noble Maritime Collection, and internationally exhibiting artist and teaching artist
Susan Fenley, Executive Director of Sundog Theatre, and an actress, singer, and mime who has appeared in theatre, film and commercials
Janice Patrignani, design professional, award winning visual artist, and art educator
Becoming a teaching artist requires a lot of commitment and work, but can be an excellent professional opportunity and a deeply rewarding field of work.
A growing body of research demonstrates that the arts are important for children's cognitive and social development.
This can be a way to make a difference AND make a living, all as part of your art practice.
