Community Board 3
Community Board 3 is a New York City agency representing Staten Island's South Shore residents. Planning Boards act as an important consultive province, dealing with land use, zoning, City Budget, transportation, health issues, education and daily community needs, Board members are unsalaried appointees of the Borough President in consultation with the Council Members of the Board district. Monthly meetings provide a public forum for members to address items of concern to the community. All meetings are open to the public and they are encouraged to attend to express their opinions. The office is open from 9-5 Monday through Friday and is staffed by NYC employees under the management of the District Manager. Minutes of all meetings are available upon request. The General Board Meeting Minutes and the District Service Cabinet Minutes are on this website under "Files".

"By 2010, New York will have added a population the size of Salt Lake City. By 2015, our temperatures will have risen by half a degree. By 2020, 40% of our power plants will be more than 50 years old. By 2025 more than 2 million people will live more than 10 minutes from a park. By 2030 will you still love New York? According to the MTA, nearly 60% of our subway stations are not in good repair. We need to develop critical back-up systems for our aging water network to ensure long-term reliability. We need to provide cleaner, more reliable power for every New Yorker by upgrading our energy infrastructure. Together we can reduce global warming emissions by more than 30%, achieve the cleanest air of any big city in America, clean up all contaminated land in New York City, and open 90% of our waterways for recreation by reducing water pollution and preserving our natural areas."
Help plan for NYC's future. Have a say in the future of New York City. Go to www.nyc.gov/planyc2030 and give us your suggestions. We need your help now!
