Valatie Free Library
The Valatie Free Library Association was founded in 1931 and chartered by the State Board of Regents in 1948.
Voting membership in the Association is open at no cost to anyone over the age of 16. All members in good standing are eligible to participate in Association meetings.
Subject to the regulations of the State Education Department, the affairs of the library are managed by a Board of Trustees. The Board comprises eight members, each elected for a four-year term. The library is also a member of the Mid-Hudson Library System.
The library currently has two paid staff members, the Library Director and a part-time Assistant.
