Long Island Railroad Sandite "Leaf Crusher" passes Woodside
running time:00:29 added by:RailFanTV source: YouTubeFilmed on November 22: here on a blistering cold night at the Woodside station on the Long Island Railroad mainline we see 2 MP15ACs locomotives on each point (161? is pulling while 158 is pushing) with a former M1 car and a tanker on the sandite train. Sandite is applied to the rails to prevent leaves from piling up and causing wheel slippage. The consist is heading East, most likely to the Hillside Facility in Jamaica.
