The mission of Samaritan Regional Health System is to take the lead in promoting the health and wellness of people in the communities we serve. In 1912, Jesse Lewis and Mary Clark gave the city of Ashland, Ohio, Samaritan Hospital, a general, acute-care, inpatient facility, so that "no one was without medical care." Clark envisioned "a hospital where no sick person would ever be refused care." Ever since, Samaritan Hospital, Ashland County's only hospital, has been fulfilling that mission. The hospital's commitment to providing quality healthcare is evident in its mission to take the lead in promoting the health and wellness of people in communities we serve by excelling in the ideals of the good samaritan.
