LP Supercell Thunderstorm & Wall Cloud- Welch, OK June 6th, 2008running time:03:52 added by:tornadovideostock source: YouTubeOn June 6th, 2008 we were with Cloud 9 Tours and Chris Kridler somewhere in extreme northeastern Oklahoma, near the town of Claremore. It was 6pm and it just didn't look good at all so we decided to call it and started to head back north in the hopes of making it as far north into Kansas as possible to set up for the next day's chase. We noticed that the surrounding storms had taken on a more appealing look so we decided to pull off the road and get some video. From there, it was all uphill! One of the storms had taken on supercell characteristics so a very important decision had to be made.....do we chase this even though on radar it didn't look very good at all, or do we say forget it and continue on north as planned. Well, thank god we decided to go for it because what we had on our hands was a nice structured LP Supercell. LP storms have poor radar presentations due to the fact that they do not carry a lot of precipitation with them, therefore they do not show up on radar too well. We got on the storm and it just looked better and better as time went on. It even developed a wonderful tail cloud and adjacent wall cloud that for a while there, we thought might put down a tube! It didn't in the end, but it did produce a pair of "kissing funnels" as I like to call them. Basically two horizontal vorticies connected with eachother under the wall cloud, it was the most crazy thing I'd ever seen and apparently, pretty rare to boot! The setting sun lit up this storm in gold ...

On December 30, 1999 a mother and father were murdered in Welch, Oklahoma, and two teenage girls also in the house vanished with no signs or evidence of them ever found. And even though one suspect claimed to have vital information, the Bible family is still looking for answers. "There's somebody out there and somebody knows something," Lorene Bible told us. But a decade after police first canvassed the crime scene and a number of searches both on the ground and in the air, the double murder and the disappearance of 16-year old's Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible remains a mystery. According to Lorene Bible, Danny and Kathy Freeman had the worst relationship with sheriff deputies in Craig County, Oklahoma. In 1998 a deputy shot and killed the Freeman's son, Shane, when deputies say he pulled a gun on them. "For a year the Freeman's and the county had like stalked one another," Bible told us. "Danny found out who the gentleman was that they county deputy that shot his son, where he lived, and then the county would harass the Freeman's. They would follow them for miles." The morning of December 30, 1999 a fire was seen at the Freeman's home. Danny Freeman and two sixteen year old girl's staying at the home were nowhere to be found.
