Free Films at Library Honor Leo and Fathers

Three films will be shown free for the public at the Baker County Public Library.
On June 20, 2009 at approximately 1:15 pm, the documentary film produced by OPB about his life and legacy will be shown as part of the Leo Adler celebration. Exact showtime will vary to coincide with the arrival of Adler Day marchers. This short film runs 29 minutes. Birthday/anniversary cake will be served in honor of Leo Adler and the 100th anniversary of the Carnegie Library building which is now the Crossroads Carnegie Art Center.
On June 21, 2009 will be a double feature of two films related to Father’s Day.
At 2:00 pm will be the 2008 film, “Nim’s Island”, starring Abigail Breslin & Jodie Foster. Based on the book of the same title by Wendy Orr, this kid-friendly action-comedy runs 96 minutes & has an MPAA rating of PG for mild adventure action and brief language.
At 4:00pm will be the 1983 classic,“Mr. Mom”, starring Michael Keaton and Terri Garr. It film runs 91 minutes & has an MPAA rating of PG. Written by John Hughes of Breakfast Club & Ferris Bueller’s Day Off fame, Mr. Mom is the first starring role for Michael Keaton, who went on to star in Beetlejuice and Batman.
