Australia: A Nuclear Future? 91:01
Internet Explorer users: click pause before closing Australia: A Nuclear Future?running time:91:01 added by:maccaustralia source: YouTubeAustralia: A Nuclear Future? (Barry Brook, Gus Nathan, Kim Talus) With the obvious urgent need to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and the global demand for energy rising exponentially, nuclear energy may be the only non-carbon-emitting technology capable of meeting the world's requirements. The nuclear industry's image has been compromised by the threat of weapons proliferation, reactor malfunctions and the storage of radioactive waste. However, today's proponents argue that improvements in reactor design have made them safer, as well as more fuel-efficient and cost-competitive to build, compared with coal plants. With renewable energy sources currently unable to provide enough baseload power, is nuclear energy our best option for reducing carbon emissions? Will the next generation of reactors make nuclear the clean, green option? Participants in the panel discussion include energy technology entrepreneur Gus Nathan, environmental scientist Barry Brook, and international energy law expert Kim Talus. Talus is especially critical of the absence of balanced and objective discussion about nuclear energy in Australia, the polarised positions akin to a "religious issue". He also opines the lack of public education and industry expertise. Brook is convinced a very fast reactor is something Australia should be strongly considering. "Thinking Critically About Sustainable Energy: A Nuclear Future" is the fourth of a series of public forums hosted by RiAus aimed at providing a ...
US Senator James Inhofe: Member of Flat Earth Society? 04:46
Internet Explorer users: click pause before closing US Senator James Inhofe: Member of Flat Earth Society?running time:04:46 added by:RenewableRider source: YouTubeRenewable Rider Tom Weis and Ron Seifert race a snowstorm towards Coalgate, OK, with more than 100 miles behind them on the day. Reflecting on the clownish behavior of US Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), Tom wonders aloud whether Inhofe is truly in denial over the climate crisis, or if he's simply a tool of the fossil fool/fuel industry. The latter would imply he cares more about staying in office than protecting the future of his children and grandchildren, but that could actually be said about most members of Congress. Time for an Occupy Congress movement?

For 110 years, developers have been unsuccessful in attempting new ideas of developing a productive, yet efficient internal combustion engine. Modifying & reconfiguring a piston engine as a source of sustainable power has not been developed, as we are still only gaining approximately 35% efficiency. Since the "Wankel" era, no genuine other than the piston engine, could source successfully in fossil fuel generating energy development. We are now honored to have the foundation of new technology that can change science forever. Internet Explorer users: click pause before closing Oil: "More Power to You" circa 1930 narrated by Lowell Thomas 10minrunning time:09:08 added by:webdev17 source: YouTubemore at scitech.quickfound.net How oil is drilled, transported, refined, reformulated, and consumed. Narrator: Lowell Thomas. en.wikipedia.org Petroleum (L. petroleum, from Greek: petra (rock) + Latin: oleum (oil)) or crude oil is a naturally occurring, flammable liquid consisting of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons of various molecular weights and other liquid organic compounds, that are found in geologic formations beneath the Earth's surface. A fossil fuel, it is formed when large quantities of dead organisms, usually zooplankton and algae, are buried underneath sedimentary rock and undergo intense heat and pressure. Petroleum is recovered mostly through oil drilling. This latter stage comes after the studies of structural geology (at the reservoir scale), sedimentary basin analysis, reservoir characterization (mainly in terms of porosity and permeable structures). It is refined and separated, most easily by boiling point, into a large number of consumer products, from petrol and kerosene to asphalt and chemical reagents used to make plastics and pharmaceuticals. Petroleum is used in manufacturing a wide variety of materials,[5] and it is estimated that the world consumes about 88 million barrels each day. The use of fossil fuels such as petroleum can have a negative impact on Earth's biosphere, releasing pollutants and greenhouse gases into the air and damaging ecosystems through events such as oil spills... In its strictest sense, petroleum includes only crude oil ...

Internet Explorer users: click pause before closing Emergency Food supplies | Surive Food Crisis | Emergency Food Kit | Global Food Shortagesrunning time:02:37 added by:ameriHeather source: YouTube"survivalkitsbook.info Currently, there is a food shortage of massive proportions sweeping the globe. This food shortage will affect residents of poor and less-developed countries first, but the effects will trickle down to even the most highly developed countries quickly. The food shortage is not as much of a shortage due to decreased production as a shortage caused by price increases. Residents of countries that consume a higher proportion of processed foods to unprocessed foods can weather the storm more easily than people whose diets consist mostly of unprocessed basics. That is because people consuming many processes foods can switch to buying basics, saving money and remaining able to pay for their food. Those whose diet consists of basics such as fresh fruits, vegetables and grains, have nowhere to go, except hungry. This food shortage is the result of many different factors-including the aforementioned price increases. There are five main factors contributing to the global food shortage which is rapidly devolving into a global food crisis Five Factors Contributing to the Global Food Crisis 1) Rising Fertilizer Costs Farmers in the poorest nations cannot afford fertilizer for their crops. Their land is so depleted of nutrients that they cannot effectively raise food without fertilizer. Fertilizer prices are rising because synthetic fertilizer is produced using oil-based energy sources, the price of which is rising steadily and quickly. 2) Subsidies for Production ...

Click to see a much better run at the first 3 stages: www.youtube.com {The following text will be identical in the description of all four parts.} Played, real-time, by SSBMstuff on a PS2 console. Plenty of glitching, but no cheating or hacking or any of that. This is a "clear" of the game: don't complain that Specter wasn't caught in the final battle because that would take too long. The precedent to end here was set by qpdb96, whom I'll get back to in a moment. I cannot stress enough that this speedrun is noncontinuous (though it should be extremely obvious from the saves and loads), done over a period of about 5 days. (And about the saves and loads - I counted time during them to be--*ahem*--"fair" ...) So yes, each part was recorded separately, mainly due to my capturing limitations. In fact, the parts weren't even stringed together over the same save file. Parts 1 and 2 were separate because my memory card died in the interim, and parts 2 and 3 were separate because I completed pt 3, saved the game ... |
