Partners in Wellness

Partners in Wellness offers massage, Reiki, and yoga to people with cancer from diagnosis to 36 months post treatment. This program also offers a 7 week after-care group to people who have completed treatment for cancer. Partners in Wellness was developed to minimize many of the debilitating symptons associated with cancer: fatigue, pain, nausea, sleep problems, stress and anxiety. Program participants report a 92% reduction in anxiety following Reiki and a 90% decrease in fatigue with massage. Of those clients reporting pain, 89% reported a reduction in pain following Reiki and 82% experienced a reduction after massage. All participants reported a high overall feeling of well-being following a yoga session and a significant decrease in fatigue and anxiety.

Participants can receive 6 one hour sessions of massage and/or Reiki and 6 one hour classes of yoga. There is a small fee (up to $20 per hour), for massage and Reiki (the first session is free) and a one time $10 fee for yoga and the after-care group. This fee is based on income and financial assistance is available.

Partners in Wellness yoga meets at YWCA Carlisle on Thursday mornings from 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
