World War II and the 1940s in CumberlandCounty

(Upper level – students entering 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grades in the fall of 2008)
Have you ever wondered what life was like during World War II? Using historic crafts, games, food, music, dance, and clothing we will explore civilian and military aspects of the war. Beginning with the attack on Pearl Harbor, campers will go through “boot camp” with military personnel. Each camper will dress in period military and civilian clothing, paint on nylon stockings, learn how weapons of the period worked, work in a war factory, and experience the challenges of rationing and civil defense. From bombing runs and military dodge ball to scrap drives and baking cakes without sugar, this camp has something for everyone.

Cost: $85 for members; $100 for nonmembers (Discount of $10 per family for multiple family members attending any camp) ENROLLMENT IS LIMITED TO 30 CAMPERS PER CAMP. Camps fill quickly - VISA and MASTERCARD accepted over the phone.
