Children Improvising Music

This camp is free to any youth in Cumberland County. Several agencies in Carlisle participate in this camp. They are The Spy Program at St John’s Episcopal Church, YMCA and Camp Thompson, YWCA and the Young Wonders, Bosler Library Summer Readers, Carlisle Parks and Recreation, Hope Station, Domestic Violence, and Pa. Counseling Service. The sessions are broken down into 4 one hour sessions during the day. Ideally, each child should be able to attend 3 one hour sessions; two workshops and one for the concert on Friday afternoon. The Hot House Trio comprised of Eric Henry, Paul Butler, and Jim Smith encourage, motivate, and reward any and all attempts at music making by the participants. Last year there were some 300 participants with some youngsters coming back year after year.
