The Rest of the Story...

Thanks so much for printing the picture of me, Anne Wood, in Sunday’s Sentinel (July 6). While it is true that I was wearing a fruit hat that I made myself as I wandered around the Mini-Festival during Summerfair activities, there was a purpose to my eccentricity. I also wore a sign that read, “Eat Fresh Fruit & HelpPrevent Child Abuse” to draw attention to the CARLISLE EXCHANGE CLUB’s booth where Exchangites were selling fresh fruit provided by our members Lenny Laskowski and Mike Diehl of L & D Catering. Profits from our annual Fruit Sale Fundraiser go to support programs that teach parents how to parent, and therefore, help prevent child abuse.
For more information on the prevention of child abuse program and our other programs of service, please visit our national website at http:/www.nationalexchangeclub.org.
