Young Wonders Summer Day Camp 2008

A recreational day camp for children who have completed Kindergarten through age 11.

Registration begins Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 5:00 P.M.

Campers must be YWCA members ($10 /year)
Camp fees are:
$125/week (week of July 4th is $100)
$115/week for siblings registered for the same week (week of July 4th is $92)
A $15 non-refundable deposit is required for each week. 

Camp will be held from June 9, 2008 - August 22, 2008 (no camp July 4th)
Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. (with an early drop-off at 7:30 a.m. and a late pick-up until 5:30 p.m.)

Financial assistance is available thanks to the United Way of Carlisle & CumberlandCounty.
Applications can be picked up at the YWCA. 
Requests will be accepted until all funds are dispersed.

• Camp is held at the YWCA in an air-conditioned facility with a gym and kitchen, as well as a large playground.
• All counselors are college students or graduates who provide positive role modeling for campers.
• Age appropriate groups for crafts, games and activities.
• Campers go on a supervised field trip every week.

June 9 - June 13:   "Amazing Animal Adventures!" - Come explore the animal kingdom through play, art and a trip to Catoctin Zoo in Thurmont, MD!

June 16 - June 20:  "Let's Go Camping!" - We will go to CampThompson , build our own forts, sing camp songs and roast marshmallows!

June 23 - June 27:  "All Aboard & Around the World!" - We will "travel" to different places around the world including taking a train ride to Indian EchoCaverns!

June 30 - July 3:    "Happy Birthday America!" - Celebrate America this week by visiting ArmyHeritageEducationCenter and having a BIRTHDAY BASH for USA!

July 7 - July 11:  "YOWO's Got Talent!" - This week is all about being a star!  We will go to Allenberry and perform at the Carlisle Theatre!  We will also host YOWO's Annual Talent Show!

July 14 - July 18:   "Mad Science Week!" - Rockets, Robots and Real Life Experiments at North Museum and Planetarium and at camp!  Join us for this exciting week of exploration!

July 21 - July 25: "Winter Wonderland!" - Is the summer heat getting to you?  Cool Off here!  We will be Ice Skating at Twin Ponds, making snow, and even go sledding!"

July 28 - August 1: "Aloha, YOWO!" - This week is all about Luau's! The Tropics! and Hula Dancing Fun!  We will go to two Lakes (instead of the pool) for Beach Party Fun!

August 4 - August 8:  "Holiday Hullobaloo!" - Who says Holidays only come once a year? We will have lots of fun this week with a Sweet Valentine's Day in Hershey and a Costume Party on Friday!

August 11 - August 15:  "Blast From the Past!" - We'll journey through different eras like the Wild West in Little Buffalo and the 70's with tie-dye!

August 18 - August 22:  "YOWO Super BOWL!" - Our farewell week will be all about having fun!  We will go BOWLING, and have a Super BOWL game, too!
