History:
The Township was established in 1859.

Middlesex Township is home to approximately 6,000 people.

First wrought iron cannon in America was made in Middlesex.

During the Whiskey Insurrection George Washington slept in the log house by the bank of the Conodoguinet, near the waterfall.

The northern most advance of the confederacy during the Civil War is marked by a plaque on Rt. 34 near the summit of Sterrett's Gap.

At one time there had been a 200 room health resort in Carlisle Springs.
