Schmucker Art Gallery at Gettysburg College

The mission of the Schmucker Art Gallery, which was founded in 1982, is to enrich cultural life on campus, in the community, and throughout  Adams County and the surrounding areas. To achieve our goal we mount exhibitions that feature works by a diverse group of emerging contemporary artists as well as outstanding works by Gettysburg College students and faculty. Exhibitions, public gallery talks, and artists' roundtable discussions are intended to deepen the understanding of art and to complement and expand the College’s visual arts curriculum while adding to the growing cultural offerings in the larger community. At the Gallery, new ideas are explored, and visitors are encouraged to discover the past and continued cultural importance of artworks and art making.
