5280 Armory IDPA

4781 W 58th Avenue

IDPA matches are held at 5280 Armory on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 5:00 PM.

Matches consist of four stages on an indoor range.

IDPA, the International Defensive Pistol Association, was formed in 1996 to provide a place for concealed carriers and others to practice and test the skills needed for self defense through the use of "real world" scenarios and skills challenges with full charge ammunition and their everyday carry  or duty gun and holster.

It is not only an invaluable learning experience, but also a great deal of fun.  Competition is overseen by trained and certified Safety Officers whose job it is to make sure everyone goes home safe.

IDPA is a sport and, as such, it has rules.  You can find these rules at http://www.idpa.com/compete/rules.  You can read them online or download them to your computer.  It's a good idea to at least look them over before signing up for a match in order to make sure your gun is allowed within the rules and to determine which division it places you in.  You will need this information to register for the match.  For your first match, you will be required to attend a New Shooter Briefing which takes place thirty minutes before check-in starts and lasts for half an hour.

This briefing will cover the most important rules and go over what to expect during the competition.
