A. P. Giannini will advance the intellectual, social,emotional, and physical development of all of its students through a core curriculum of science, math, history/social science, English, applied/visual/performing arts, and physical education. Staff will recognize the skill levels, learning styles, and cultural uniqueness of students and utilize technology, hands-on activities, and interdisciplinary instruction to enhance teaching and learning. The curriculum will focus on developing both oral and written literacy and be personally meaningful to students.

Staff, students, families, and the community will be actively involved in the educational process to create a safe, supportive environment where students want to learn and believe that success is attainable. Everyone will honor diversity, value differences, and respect each other. Students will develop a sense of responsibility toward themselves, their school community, and the larger community. When students are not engaged in the learning process, staff, families, and the community will intitate a variety of strategies to help students succeed.

A. P. Giannini will be a school where process-the steps taken to reach an outcome-as well as product will be valued. Students will learn how to learn. They will leave middle school with the knowledge and tools they will need to confidently meet the challenges of high school and beyond.
