Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, Xi Pi Omega Chapter


Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated had its humble beginnings as the vision of nine college students on the campus of Howard University in 1908. Since then, the sorority has flourished into a globally-impactful organization of sisterhood exceeding 300,000 members throughout the United States and internationally. The sorority is empowered by a commitment to servant-leadership which extends from college level to professional women outside of college.  The Xi Pi Omega Chapter is a local chapter serving the Boynton, Boca Raton and Delray Beach areas. These empowered women advocate for change and impact the community through varies social programs and activities.

Under each administration the programs change, however the program theme for 2018-2022 Under Alpha Kappa Alpha’s President Dr. Glenda Glover is Exemplifying Excellence through Sustainable Service. Our five program targets which are offered to the community and designed to advance the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority are:

HBCU for Life: A Call to Action - Promotes and markets historically black colleges and universities as a sustainable measure. As part of this endeavor Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority has pledge -------- and is on track to donate to various Historical Black College and Universities throughout the United States.

Women’s Healthcare and Wellness – Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness and Prevention in addition to community heart health, nutrition, wellness and care for caregivers.

Building Your Economic Legacy –Promotes Personal Financial Planning and Assessment Accumulation, Credit Repair, Credit Monitoring and Entrepreneurship. The plight of homelessness is also a major focus under this initiative.

 The Arts! - Exposes students to arts enrichment and culture.

Global Impact- Engages in programs designed to enhance the international footprint of the sorority, which includes three Global Assistance Activities that provide assistance to underserved minorities and veterans. Through varies community partnerships, the sorority engage in community projects that make an impact worldwide. One such project Refugees in America Assistance Program, RAAP the sorority collects donated wearable items such as shoes, eye glasses and clothing for distribution to those in need. Additionally as part of the RAAP program, the organization support activities to assists refugees of color in the United States and their families to integrate into American Life. This includes literary classes, educational training and other necessary transitional support.

Our signature program #CAPsm (College Assistance Program) focuses on providing guidance and support in college application completion, the enrollment process and ACT/SAT preparation for students seeking first time admission to any US college and University. The goal of  this program is to assist in funding financial aid via scholarships and provide an educational road map to support students. The Organization strives to change the lives of young citizens with a dream to excel.

Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated, Xi Pi Omega chapter has introduced several programs to the community such as a women’s free breast cancer screening program, Pink Goes Red Senior Luncheon; many of which are partnered with local synergistic community partners. We welcome corporations and community organizations to join us as we provide many other activities that make up our annual calendar and  offer community enrichment.
