Aurora - Aurora History Museum

15051 East Alameda Parkway

The Aurora History Museum, the only public museum in the city of Aurora, is a community-based cultural center featuring changing history, culture, decorative arts, and fine arts exhibits focusing on a wide variety of topics. For researchers, the museum is the primary resource in Aurora for historic records, photographs, exhibition, and information.

It was a free way to spend an hour or so. I enjoyed seeing the trolly but the museum is pretty small. They had very friendly staff.

This place is an absolute must! Although it may be small in size, it's huge in history. I love coming at least once a month to learn more and more about aurora. For a history buff, there's never not something new to learn if you haven't lived there before!

This small museum is tucked between the police headquarters and city hall on the Aurora civic center campus. The most interesting exhibit is a meticulously restored trolley car which is housed in a new wing of the museum. There is also a general exhibit about the history of Aurora, a small rotating exhibit featuring residents' collections, a little museum store, and occasional art exhibits.
