The mission of Bainbridge Community Piano Association is to provide a high quality grand piano in a public space for nonprofit groups and individual to rent for concerts, recitals, music scholarship competitions, master classes and musical entertainment. The association sponsors student recitals and concerts including the Bainbridge Community Student Recitals and First Sundays Concert Series. Bainbridge Community Piano Association is a non profit corporation which was formed on November 15, 2002 and received its tax exemption status as an organization under section 501 (c)3 on July 15, 2003. It is responsible for the purchase, maintenance, insurance and rental of the Yamaha C6 grand piano in the Bainbridge Commons at The Waterfront Park Community Center. Bainbridge Community Piano Association Board members are Darden Burns, Peggy Swingle and Mary Foster-Grant.Bainbridge Community Piano Association completed its campaign of raising $30,000 for the purchase of the piano in April 2006. It received contributions from over 100 individuals and grants from the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island and the Bainbridge Island Arts and Humanities Fund.
