Mission:

The Mission and Ministry of all members of the Worldwide Apostolic Church is to serve the Lord our God with all our heart, mind and soul, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Statement of Purpose

Therefore, the Purpose of the Worldwide Apostolic Church is as follows:

"To serve our communities, our nation and our world by teachings and expounding the Gospel our our Lord Jesus Christ according to the Holy Scriptures; to evangelize the world; to teach all people in the ways of salvation, goodness, holiness, righteousness and morality as taught in the Holy Bible; to administer the sacraments and ordinances of the Church according to Scripture; to bring Gospel Assemblies of like precious faith into a common fellowship and by licensing and ordaining clergy to
the work of the Gospel Ministry."

Bethel ACOP was started on January 26 2003 the 4th Sunday of that month. After being asked by the Apostolic Church of Promise executive board and being led by the Lord, we took on the task of raising a congregation. We traveled form Pensacola Florida to Birmingham Alabama for the first three months. Our initial meetings were held in the Sheraton hotel in downtown Birmingham. Due to the expense of travel and the high cost of the building, we sought another place to hold services. We began to meet at the home of Kelvin Traylor also in Birmingham. Later at the urging of many and to be close to our support base, we moved to Shelby County to the home of Johnny Traylor. When the pastor was alerted to the war in Iraq, we began to seek a more permanent place to hold services. We settled in the Phyllis Wheatly Community Center on October 31, 2003. From October 2003 until October 2004, Elder Cathy Traylor stepped into the position Pastor. She successfully executed the duties as pastor until Overseer Traylor was able to resume his duties. We thank God for all of Elder Traylor’s hard work and dedication. On October 23, 2005 we were blessed by God, through much prayer, to move into this wonderful church building on 435 Ferry Road. In September 2006 Bishop-Elect Traylor Answered the call of God and allowed the Lord to bring forth a seed that had been planted in him since 2002, the Worldwide Apostolic Church. It was during this time that Apostle Traylor accepted the Apostleship. We held our first Pentecost in June 2007 during which Apostle Traylor was confirmed as the Chief Apostle. God has richly blessed this Church and has added unto it such as should be saved. We look forward in great expectation for what the Lord has in store for us in the future.
